Music Teacher Job Description

We are looking for a Christian, reliable, trustworthy music teacher responsible for teaching music as part of the school curriculum and attending parent-teacher conferences. The music teacher will follow the guidelines as set out by the education department, which include the theory and practice of general music, singing, and playing musical instruments.

To be successful as a music teacher, you should create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music. Ultimately, a top-notch music teacher should play musical instruments and plan concerts for student participation.

Applicant must have a valid Montana Educator License with a Music teacher K-12 endorsement or demonstrate the ability to obtain proper certification. This position will be split between the K-8 grade school and the High school.

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum
• Managing classroom dynamics and ensuring a positive learning environment
• Providing individual and group instruction in vocal and instrumental music

• Conduct music classes according to rules and regulations established by Montana’s Board of Education.
• Planning, maintaining, and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
• Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
• Building relationships and mentoring students.
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback and assistance to improve their musical skills.
• Maintenance and repairs for musical instruments are recommended when necessary.
• Maintain student behavioral standards to ensure a productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances.
• Collaborate with school administration to organize musical programs for civic functions and school productions.
• Attend educational workshops, training, and professional improvement programs to maintain professional competence.
• Participate in curriculum development programs, student activities, and faculty committees.
• Maintain student grading and attendance records.
• Evaluate student progress and ensure that students complete daily assignments.
