Job Description

Dominion Engineering LLC is a growing engineering firm encompassing several engineering disciplines including geotechnical, structural and construction engineering. We design bridges, temporary and permanent support of excavation systems (sheet pile walls, soldier pile walls, anchored walls, soil nail walls etc.), construction engineering services, caisson shaft inspections using shaft inspection device and down-hole cameras and assist with load testing of anchors. 

Dominion is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for our Cranberry Township, PA office. Self-motivated individuals with two to five years of relevant work experience and strong academic background should submit a cover letter and résumé to Dominion, per the instructions below. In this full-time position, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include:

Requirements of the Geotechnical Engineer:

  • BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or associated engineering discipline)
    2-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • PE or EIT certification.
  • Project experience with bridges, retaining walls, slopes, and embankments, buildings and construction engineering.
  • Experience with a Shaft Inspection Device (SID)and Down-Hole cameras are a plus.
  • Dependable drive and character, as demonstrated with a stable work history.
  • Possess computer skills, including: Microsoft Suite, Project Management Software; and a working knowledge of geotechnical/structural analysis design software.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior communication skills, including verbal, social, and writing; the ability to interface with a diverse range of colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.

Duties and Capabilities of the Geotechnical Professional:

  • Design various retaining walls including sheet piles, soldier pile, anchored walls, and soil nails.
  • Co-design and manage multiple geotechnical engineering projects, concurrently.
  • Co-coordinate and execute various projects with Project Engineers.
  • Perform Caisson Shaft Inspections using SID and Down-Hole cameras (will train if necessary)
  • Assist with construction load testing of anchors.
  • Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

Working Conditions:
Full-Time, 40 hours a week
This position requires about 80% office work, and 20% travel time.
